Waterford to Dungarvan Greenway is now open and runs past Dawn House B&B
Waterford City and County Council and Deise Greenway group have developed its 45km greenway on the alignment of the disused railway line from Dungarvan to Waterford.
This route has a hard surface all the way, although some sections use tar and chip and the construction including major works on bridges and underpasses. Unlike the Great Western Greenway, the old Waterford railway route remained in state ownership, so there are few detours from the railway alignment.
The Suir Valley Railway Experience
From a old-fashioned carriage and take in the wonderful panoramic views of the River Suir. This is a family friendly railway that runs mostly along the picturesque banks of the River Suir offering views of the world-famous Mount Congreve Gardens. This is an area rich in history and is accessible by train only.
